Keep a wedding list and check it twice…

-

IT doesn’t matter what time of year you get married the one thing that always stays in fashion is a well organised list. You’ll need reminding of what needs doing between now and the big day and keeping it all in your heard isn’t a good idea. Think ‘wedding planner’ and the image of an ambitious person brimming with colourful ideas spring to mind.

But a wedding planner can be something as simple as a pen and paper. Timing is everything when it comes to weddings and knowing what to do and when to do it is helpful. For example, if you’re getting married chances are the budget, venue, dress, music and photographer is already booked in advance. But once you hit the final few months the crosschecking becomes more tedious. Here are some of the finer aspects that you won’t want to overlook in the final stages of preparation.

around the house to break them in and when the big day comes around, they’ll be your best friends.

You won’t need reminding that invites need to be distributed. But perhaps it’s no harm to keep a spreadsheet of RSVPs, those who can’t make it or are undecided, etc. This is called being organised and is a good idea.

Choose the gifts for the bridesmaids and flower girls and make sure to finalise any other presentations you have planned for someone on the day like a parent, grandparent, godparent or special friend.

With about a month to go make one final swoop on everyone you have lined up to contribute to your wedding day. Meet the florist; meet the DJ; meet the hotel to update them on numbers and menus; meet with invitees who haven’t responded or remain undecided. Get this done in time and don’t leave it to the last week as this is a time when you should be soaking up what is a special time in your life.
