Boherue flying the flag for Cork in Belfast

REBEL clubs are bound for Belfast this Saturday on the staging of the All Ireland Scór na nÓg Finals.

Hopefuls from Boherbue, Carbery Rangers, Sam Maguires, Tadhg MacCarthai­gh and Clann na nGael take to the stage of the Waterfront Hall in search of ultimate honours in the hotly competitiv­e national finals.

Promoting the cultural wing of the GAA, the diverse programme of music, song, dance to novelty act draws participan­ts from all four provinces. Boherbue carry Cork hopes in the Table Quiz with a team of Tomás Sheehan, Megan Courtney, Alan and Anthony O’Connor

Overall Cork seek accolades in a quintet of interest on an impressive representa­tion carrying the rebel county colours that bid to repeat some outstandin­g successes from recent years.

Sam Maguires Shannon Buttimer looks forward to participat­ing in the demanding recitation class with Carbery Rangers Ballad Group, Clann na nGael Music Group and Tadhg MacCarthai­gh Leiriú all vying for national honours.

Duhallow national school kids got the Kanturk Credit Union Scór na bPaistí off to rousing start last weekend.

Kanturk, Rockchapel and Lismire hosted semi finals, the extensive schedule focused on figure/set dancing, solo singing, recitation, novelty act, instrument­al music, ballad groups and question time.

The next stage sees qualifiers progress to divisional deciders, Boherbue hosts the Leiriú, recitation and question time on Friday, February 17 with the remainder of the programme confirmed for the Edel Quinn Hall, Kanturk on Sunday, February 19 commencing at 1pm.
