DROMTARRIFFE GAA
Our 2016 victory social took place in the Heights Hotel Killarney last Saturday night. A large attendance was joined by Ger Lane County Board chairman and Tony McAuliffe secretary Duhallow Board. Michael O’Connell did an excellent job as MC and John Tarrant was on hand to take the photos as well as our parish priest.
Presentations were made to the hurling management by the players in recognition of their guidance in bringing Duhallow and county honours to the club. Andreas O’Sullivan outgoing Junior Football manager also received a presentation from the players. Floral bouquets were presented to Sharon O’Keeffe Club PRO, Noreen McSweeney Club Photographer and Emer Lane Sandpit as well as sponsors presentations. Our thanks to the staff of the Heights Hotel and all who provided spot prizes in the night.

Jermiah Lehane of Kanturk, who passed away to his eternal reward recently was a well known figure around Duhallow and beyond. He was an around sportsman and a very respected community activist. In his younger days, he was a regular bowler with the Sally’s cross bowling club. He played many a tournament and challenge score on the Sally’s Cross road. In later years, he became the clubs chairman. He was a gentle giant who was popular with everyone who knew him. To his family, neighbours and many friends, the bowling fraternity would like to extend their deepest sympathies. May he rest in peace
