The Kube is coming to boost school fire fund
POPULAR game show ‘The Kube’ is set to come to Mallow – with locals set the challenge of helping to raise funds for the Patrician Academy school development fund.
With the rebuilding process at the school ongoing following last years devastating fire, the parents association is already looking to the future by enhancing its existing facilities.
“We believe that now is the opportunity to bring the infrastructure of the school to the most modern standards for current and future students and staff,” said association chair Denise Mulcahy.
To do this requires money, which is why the association is to bring The Kube to the Mallow GAA complex at Carrigoon on Saturday, April 1 for what promises to be an exciting night of fun and mayhem.
Based on the concept of the popular game show, contestants will be set tasks that will test their physical and mental abilities, intelligence responsiveness.
In order to garner interest in the event, which will be the associations main fundraiser, they have issued a call to local clubs and businesses to nominate a competitor from their ranks to take part.
As it costs up to €10,000 to stage the event, organisers are looking for each contestant to contribute €300 in sponsorship and sell 15 tickets to the event at €15 each.
On the night they will be competing for €1,000 in prize money, which will go to a club or charity of their choosing.
Once the line up of 36 contestants has been finalised, a launch night will be held close to the date when organisers will give them a taster of the games and what will be involved on the night. “We know this is going to be a brilliant night, but we need your help,” said Denise.
