North Cork represented on county ladies teams
THE ladies playing season is firmly underway, a number of North Cork clubs well represented on county panels.
Figuring on the County U-14 panel are Caitlin Murray (Mourneabbey), Laura O’Driscoll (Mourneabbey), Cliodhna Browne (Glanworth), Laura Doody (St Peters), Isobelle Shirkie (Kildorrery), Clodagh Buckley (St Marys), Anna Ryan (Mourneabbey), Clara Walsh (Killavullen) and Emma Lynch (Newmarket).
The Cork U-14 team take to the playing field against Tipperary on this Saturday at 2pm at a venue to be confirmed.
Meanwhile the Cork U-16 Cork panel comprise Mairead O’Sullivan (Kilshannig), Aine Keating (Kildorrery), Sally McCarthy (Kildorrery), Ellie Jack (Mourneabbey), Ciara O’Callaghan (Mourneabbey) and Kate Dennehy (Araglen Desmonds Bui), all looking ahead to a clash against Tipperary on March 5.
Meanwhile, the Cork minor panel include Chloe Collins (Dromtariffe), Chloe Cottrell (Newmarket), Roisin Duffy (Mourneabbey), Aisling Healy (Kilshannig), Ava Looney (Knocknagree) and Katie Horgan (Knocknagree). The Cork minors open their season against Waterford on the weekend of April 8/9.

BOHERBUE emerged stronger from a plucky Lyre on recording a five point victory in the Ducon Cup.
At the full time whistle the victors possessed the better balanced and more accomplished outfit. In fairness, Lyre didn’t go down without a battle on mounting a revival during the closing quarter yet the ultimate deficit proved too much of a burden to erase.
Defences held sway in the opening half, Boherbue shaded the 30 minutes game time, highlighted by a John Corkery goal to enjoy a 1-3 to 0-2 grip at the break.
