Katie is finding a niche in psychotherapy
KATARINA MADARASZ is a qualified psychotherapist based in Kanturk.
Originally from Slovakia, Katie, as her Irish friend’s call her has been living in Ireland for the last 14 years, so she is well versed in the Irish way of life.
Katarina specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT is proven to be very effective in the treatment of many different mental health difficulties.
Katies, interest in CBT came through her training as a psychiatric mental health nurse; and she qualified from IT Tralee in 2011.
After the nursing training, Katie completed her Masters Degree in CBT at ICHAS College in Limerick.
As part of the Masters Degree she completed over 200 hours of practical training.
Since her qualification Katie has applied her CBT skills in her everyday practice as a psychiatric nurse.
Katie has successfully helped people suffering from Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety, Depression with Suicidal Ideation; Self Esteem Issues, Panic Disorders and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
hrough her psychiatric mental health nurse training she learned all about the importance of listening, being non-judgemental and empathetic, treating every person as an individual having their own individual needs. During the sessions she aims to support her clients, but in the meantime she challenges them in their thinking and guides them to finding solutions to their difficulties.
