Just when Glanworth were in contention a break out of defence by Kevin Fox to Paul O’Sullivan produced a fine goal by Padraigh Looney as the winners moved 2-2 to 0-3 clear.

Glanworth recovered well with Jack Coughlan, Eric O’DonÓghue John Landers and Stephen Condon to the fore. Eric O’DonÓghue had two pointed frees by the 24th minute. Glanworth keeper Shane Masterson saved well from Charlie Lillis. In the closing moments Charlie Lillis pointed a free that gave his side an interval lead 2-3 to 0-5.

For the second half Killavulle­n introduced Michael Fresh into the attack. Fresh made an immediate impact scoring an early point and following with a goal that sealed the outcome as Killavulle­n moved 3-4 to 0-5 clear. By the 40th minute Killavulle­n moved 3-5 to 0-5.

Glanworth never gave up, they created a number of goal scoring chances but Killavulle­n keeper James Angland and the full back line were rock solid. Glanworth forced five 45s in the last 20 minutes, but all were cleared.

Killavulle­n were reduced to 13 players for the last quarter but they defended very well under the circumstan­ces. Scores were very scarce in this period Eddie Cotter put Kevin Fox through for a point for the winners while Eric Hanrahan pointed from a tight angle for Glanworth. Killavulle­n now await the winner of the replay between Kilara Óg and St. Kevin’s in the final.
