Laochra Óg camogie talents get to experience Croke Park magic

HURLING and Camogie Camp: Laochra Óg Hurling and Camogie Camp took place in Coláiste Gobnatan, Ballyvourn­ey. With a visit to one of our club sponsors Folláin Teo. who gave compliment­ary jam to all the boys and girls who attended the camp. Míle buíochas as bhur tacaíocht.

Coaches included Trevor Horgan, Niamh McCarthy,Michael Cahalane, Fionn Keane, Carthrach Keane, Bríd Stack with six transition year students giving a helping hand, Eoin O’Connell, Síle Meachair, Hannah Lyons, Caoimhe Cronin, Fionn Lynch and James Moynihan. Maeve Murphy and Shauna Healy assisting for the two day camp.

Monday 17th April 2017: Our U12 Camogie team were in Croke Park today to play against three teams. They were Wolfe Tones na Sionna from Co. Clare, Edenbrook Club from Co. Tyrone and Mountbelle­w-Moylough from Co. Galway. Laochra Óg won all three games and had a tour of the stadium and museum afterwards.

Shauna Healy was the club referee who attended on the day. A great day out for everyone who travelled and some more good memories made. Thanks to everyone who travelled.

U16 B Hurling League took place in Coláiste Gobnatan today and the visitors lead from the start with accurate freetaking.

Laochra Óg made a great rally in the second half and considerin­g that the core team was depleted with injuries and players on holidays, it was brilliantl­y filled with new additions like David O’Connor and Brian Healy. Final score was Laochra Óg 3 – 4 to Croke Rovers 6 – 9

UPCOMING FIXTURES:

This Friday, 21 Apr, we are due to play the reschedule­d U11 game against Crosshaven in Macroom Town Park. Please be on the pitch for 6 pm. Enter via the lane beside Kelleher’s hardware.

Laochra óg Under 13 Camogie match tomorrow evening away to Éire Óg at 7.15. (Game brought forward due to clashing with National Feile weekend in June) Laochra Óg U14 Camogie match Monday 24th at 7 against St. Colums. Leaving Clondrohid Community hall at 5:30 Via bus. Cork County U14 Camogie feile this Saturday at Brian Dillons.Registrati­ons at 1.30pm First match V Bride Rovers 2pm followed by Brian Dillons and Middleton Camogie teams.

U14 Hurling League Laochra Óg v Shamrocks at 2pm in Shanbally on Saturday 22nd.
