The Corkman

Final replay

-

ANOTHER exciting and satisfying hours Gaelic Football will again be expected when two excellent sides Cill Na Martra and Kilmurry try for the second time to capture the title for Muskerry’s premier under 21 football championship.

These two teams gave us a feast of Gaelic Football two weeks ago when they finished all square at the excellent Macroom venue and Saturdays replay is likely to again go right down to the wire.

The lead changed hands on a number of occasions in the first encounter between the sides and it was Cill Na Martra who were slightly fancied entering the fray who had to snatch an equalizer in the dying seconds.

A number of their team were part of their intermediate side who had convincing first round county championship victory over Gabriel Rangers in Saturday last which clearly indicates that their under 21 football side is a formidable one and they are boosted by the fact that Micheál O Deasúna who was troubled by hand injury in the draw encounter was in outstanding form in last week’s intermediate victory.

He will be a leading figure in Saturday’s quest for victory and others who will be to forefront will be Antoín O Cúana, Tadg Ó Corcora, Eoín Ó Loinsigh, Gearóid Ó Goíllidhe, Dannó Dúinnín and Damien Ó H-úrdáil.

Kilmurry are composed football side with good players in every line of the field and they have a powerful figure at centre half forward in Joe Ryan. Others who should make their presence felt are William Ronan, the Warren twins Fionn and Sean, Liam Wall, James Mullane and Oghan Clifford.

There will be plenty of talent on display at Macroom on Saturday and the game could go either way.
