CLEAN UP

Boherbue Tidy Towns Committee organised Annual Spring Clean-up which takes place on this Saturday, April 22 with volunteers assembling at the Square at 10am.

Litter pickers and refuse sacks will be provided but you are asked not to forget your hi vis bib and gloves.

Your help will make all the difference -- go along and play a role in making your town look clean and tidy.

EASTER CAMP

Boherbue Juvenile GAA Club Easter Camp takes place in the Comprehens­ive School gym on this Thursday and Friday, April 20 and 21.

The programmes are u9 from 10am to 11.30am, u10 upwards 11.30am to 1pm, boys and girls welcome. Fee €15 for both days.

Runners are assisted and all participan­ts will later be treated to a visit to the newly developed Pairc Ui Caoimh.

At the Munster 40x20 developmen­t finals played in Boherbue on Monday last, Tomas O’Connor partnered by Calum McCarthy, Liscarroll won the u12 doubles title while Shane O’Riordan partnered by John Cronin, Ballydesmo­nd were winners in the u13 doubles.

As part of a new crime prevention initiative, Community Alert/ Muintir na Tire have published ‘Property Log Books’. The idea is that householde­rs would record details of valuable items either in the home or farm, ie, model make and serial number to have in the event of a burglary. Books will be available on registrati­on and cost €5 each. LADIES FOOTBALL

Knocknagre­e Ladies Football Club have exciting times ahead as they support their candidate Noreen McSweeney for the Lord Mayor of Knocknagre­e, a contest which was launched on Saturday night last.

The Club’s under 8, 10 and 12 squads have resumed training on Mondays 6.15 to 7.15pm.

The under 16 squad train on Mondays 7-8pm with the under 14 group on Thursdays 7-8pm.

The minor and junior side have circuit training on Fridays and Sundays.

The club hosted a Feile Blitz recently where eight teams took part with Banteer the eventual winners. They now contest the County Feile on May 1.

The Club wish to thank all those who helped out on the day including Denis Ring, DJ Murphy and Aisling Davies who train the local under 14 squad.

Congrats to Katie Horgan and Ava Looney who were members of the Cork Minor team that defeated Waterford recently.

BRASS BAND

To commemorat­e their 50th anniversar­y, Cobh Brass Band will perform in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Kiskeam on this Sunday, April 23 at 3pm.

Admission is free -- a performanc­e not to be missed.
