Irish School Scoil Laitiarain in Cullen takes place this year from Monday July 3 to Friday 21 -- this is an annual Irish course which attracts big numbers each year; it runs daily from 10am to 3pm in the local community centre where the programme includes Gaeilge, Amhránaioc­ht, cluich agus rincí.

The fee is 150 per child, which includes tuition and insurance but does not include food -- students are asked to bring packed lunches.

There is a reduction in the fee for more than one member of the same family, as follows : two children (270) and three children (370).

The annual cemetery mass in Kiskeam takes place on Monday July 3.

The First Holy Communion Ceremony takes place in Cullen this coming Saturday April 29 at 11am and also at the Church of the Sacred Hearts Kiskeam.

Knocknagre­e Ladies Minor Football team travelled to Kilshannig on Friday evening last where they recorded a 6-10 to 4-9 win over the home side in the North Cork League.

This was a very entertaini­ng game with the winners recording some wonderful scores; the club wish the best of luck to Katie Horgan and Ava Looney who line out with Cork next Monday at the DR Crokes pitch in Killarney in the Munster Minor Final against Kerry -- throw in is at 1pm.
