A NIGHT OF MEMORIAL AT THE CORK OPERA HOUSE
CORK group Interference will be performing a special, one off performance at The Cork Opera House this Friday at 8pm.
The group were originally centred around acclaimed singer songwriter Fergus O’Farrell. Following his passing, the group have continued to perform in his honour and this show will be a special commemoration to their leading man.
The group will be performing a selection of their best songs in honour of him and there will be a number of special guests to honour the contributions O’Farrell made to Irish music.

BLUES LEGEND AT BALLYMALOE GRAIN STORE
Ballymaloe Grainstore will play host to legendary blues pianist Al Copley on Friday night at 8pm.
The iconic performer has been at the forefront of blues music for over four decades, performing with some of the biggest acts in music history, including Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan. He has performed with the original Blues Brothers including John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd, playing such hits as Sweet Home Chicago and Soul Man.
The twice nominated grammy performer is a legend on the blues scene and has performed alongside blues legends such as Etta James and B.B King.

THE CALVINISTS RETURN TO OLIVER PLUNKETT
Cork folk band The Calvinists will be performing a free concert on Friday at The Oliver Plunkett at 9.30pm.
The group, who have attracted a small cult following in recent years, are regulars on the Cork music scene, performing in Venues across the county.
Influenced by acts such as Bob Dylan, their music is an unusual blend of many differing music styles.
The groups sound combines elements of gypsy, folk music, bluegrass and rockabilly and have showcased their talent on the Saturday Night Show, as well as receiving a surprise rave review from The New York Times for their debut album ‘King of Lies’.
J. B. KEANE CLASSIC FOR EVERYMAN ANNIVERSARY
John B Keane’s very first play, Many Young Men of Twenty, will be performed at The Everyman Palace Theatre from Thursday to Saturday.
The legendary playwright wrote this play when he was just 18 years old, however, it possesses all the trademarks that have come to be associated with the iconic figure.
The play charts the small town days of Danger Mullaly and Peg Finnerty in Hannigan’s pub as they see prospective emigrants off on the train.
Woven with humour, turn of phrase and the tragedy of emigration, this is the perfect play to make the 120 anniversary of the Everyman Palace Theatre.

HIT THE DIFF AT THE INEC KILLARNEY
The hilarious novelty act, Marty Mone will be taking to the stage at the INEC on Saturday night.
The singer, who has produced such hits as Hit The Diff and Slip The Clutch has enjoyed massive success since the release of his first song in November 2015.
Since then, Marty has become a huge hit on Youtube, amassing over 10 million views and a legion of fans along with it. GUYS AND DOLLS AT TRISKEL ARTS CENTRE
The Cork International Choral Festival’s annual “Choirs at Christchurch” fringe concert brings acappella group Guys and Dolls to the beautiful setting of Triskel Christchurch for a lunchtime performance this Saturday at 1pm
Guys and Dolls were formed in July 2016 to compete in the open mixed quartet contest at the Irish Barbershop Singers convention in Cork, October 2016. Immediately enjoying the experience of singing together, they were delighted to place first in the competition, and had no reservations about continuing to sing together.
Guys and Dolls perform in all styles of modern a cappella singing, including close harmony jazz and popular music.

Finnish group K-x-p & The Sunshine Factory will be bringing their eclectic style of music to Connolly’s of Leap on Sunday night from 9.30pm.
The Sunshine Factory K-X-P is a strange combination of factors: merging the darkest elements of their home country of Finland, with kraut progressions, techno vibes and a mixture of organic reverence to sound and a digital praying system. RENOWNED PUPPETEER AT CORK ARTS THEATRE
Following its hugely successful run earlier in the year Dominic Moore returns with Mr Punch, his compelling one-man show, at the Cork Arts Theatre this Tuesday at 8pm.
Mr Punch is the story of a puppeteer, Jimmy Horgan, and his attempts to perform his traditional Punch and Judy Show in the world of today’s political correctness.
Dominic Moore most recently appeared in the acclaimed Jack by Declan Hassett, the play marking the centenary of the birth of Jack Lynch, at the Everyman.
One of Ireland’s leading puppeteers, Dominic Moore has worked extensively with RTE for years bringing characters to life.

POP TO ROCK AT THE WELCOME INN
The Welcome Inn will play host to singer Jack Aherne for a free performance this Sunday night from 8pm.
Aherne is a veteran on the Cork Music scene, having performed at venues throughout Cork for years.
Inspired by such acts as Radiohead and Thin Lizzy, Aherne’s live shows offer a wide variety of music for all fans and he has developed a reputation as a wonderful live performer with the ability to get the crowd moving.
His ability to go from cheerful pop rock to a more grudgy rock sound has rightfully established Jack as one of Cork’s premier live performers.
