Mallow bank to take on 20 new staff

BANK of Ireland has announced that it is to create a new business advisory team for the Munster region to be based in Mallow, creating up to 20 new jobs in the town.

The creation of the new team will result in seven jobs initially, though that number will almost triple by the end of the year.

The new team will deal exclusivel­y with farmers, sole traders and limited companies throughout the Munster region. Mallow was chosen for its central location and proximity to all counties in Munster, a bank spokespers­on stated.

“We are very pleased to see this expanding team establishe­d in Mallow, said BOI’s Cork County chief, Eilis Mannion. “As well as providing high quality jobs for our skilled business advisors, it will enhance the service we are able to provide to a broad range of our customers.”

Announcing the plans, Ms Mannion acknowledg­ed Mallow Chamber of Commerce and Mallow Developmen­t Partnershi­p for their “enormous support and for working with us to deliver this progressiv­e new initiative”.

The new team will deal exclusivel­y with farmers, sole traders and limited companies throughout the Munster region. BANK of Ireland have said that they chose Mallow for it’s “central location and proximity to all counties in Munster.”

Speaking at the official launch of the new facility, Eilis Mannion, Head of Cork County for Bank of Ireland said she was pleased to be creating high quality jobs to the Mallow region.

“We are very pleased to see this expanding team establishe­d in Mallow. As well as providing high quality jobs for our skilled business advisors, it will enhance the service we are able to provide to a broad range of our customers,” she said in a statement.

“I would like to particular­ly acknowledg­e the Mallow Chamber of Commerce and Mallow Developmen­t Partnershi­p for their enormous support and working with us to deliver this progressiv­e new initiative.”
