Garda search for missing woman

GARDAI investigat­ing the disappeara­nce of a North Cork woman missing since late March have begun searching a house in East Cork in the hoping of find some clues as to her whereabout­s

Tina Satchwell (45), who is originally from St Bernard’s Place in Fermoy, has been missing from her home in Youghal since March 20 and gardai have becoming increasing­ly concerned about her.

Mrs Satchwell, nee Dingivan, was reported missing by husband, Englishman, Richard Satchwell (66) when he contacted gardai in Youghal on March 24 after she left home and failed to return.

Gardai have made inquiries with Ms Satchwell’s family in Fermoy and with friends in both Youghal and Fermoy but have been unable to find any trace of the woman.

On Wednesday, garda technical experts carried out a forensic examinatio­n of a house in Youghal as a preliminar­y step in the garda investigat­ion into her disappeara­nce.

It is understood Mrs Satchwell left her mobile phone behind, in Fermoy, and gardai are now examing mobile phone records and bank accounts to see if there has been any activity on either since she was reported missing in March.

Gardai said that Mrs Satchwell has no history of going missing from home and have described such behaviour is “out of character for her” for the woman who is currently unemployed.

Mrs Satchwell, who is described as 5’6’’, of medium build with blonde shoulder length hair and blue eyes, has been living in the seaside town for approximat­ely two years.
