CDYS plan special pilgrimage to Rome
RECENTLY the CDYS Youth Choir took part in a youth Mass at the Church of the Resurrection.
The Youth Choir had worked very hard preparing for this Mass and their commitment is to be commended under the guidance of Ms Sarah Finn. The young people’s involvement really enhanced the Mass and going forward the group would love to continue this work.
The young people enjoyed a pizza and sing song back in Mallow Community Youth Centre in which Fr Andrew Carvill joined them. Fr Carvill gave a rousing rendition of ‘In Dublin’s Fair City’ with all the young people joining in.

Meanwhile, this year, the Pope John Paul II Award is ten years old. To celebrate the achievements of so many across the country who are participating in or have achieved the Award, a special pilgrimage to Rome is taking place in late October. This trip is also open to anyone who is interested in seeing the sights of Rome.
The details of the pilgrimage are as follows: Four night stay in Rome with flights from Dublin to Rome with Are Lingus and Ryanair. It takes place from Monday, October 30 to Friday, November 3. The cost of the trip is €625 per person with a deposit required of €265 with single supplement applying.
The Diocese of Cloyne has secured ten places at this price and a few places are still remaining. The trip includes return flights Dublin to Rome, airport taxes, transfers, travel insurance, fully licensed and bonded tour operator JWT, four nights in a 3 star hotel with B&B accommodation, daily Mass, celebratory Mass in the Irish College, visit the tomb of Pope John Paul II, the Vatican, Colosseum, and hopefully an audience with the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
