Hurlers return to league action with home tie V Kildorrery

THE Kanturk Intermedia­te hurlers return to league action with a home tie on this Sunday, June 11 at Kanturk at 12 noon with Kildorrery providing the opposition.

With home advantage, Kanturk will be seeking to gather the league points on offer as they maintain their Division two league status and move up the table. This is Kanturk’s first league tie since their championsh­ip tie with Castlelyon­s on April 30th last, so it is important that they take the points on offer. FOOTBALL: Kanturk Intermedia­te footballer­s lost out at home to St Michaels in their county division 2 tie played on Friday last 2nd June.

Despite being short their inter county contingent, Kanturk were well in the game, leading 0-8 to 1-4 at the interval but ultimately two St Michael’s goals over the hour was the difference between the sides as Kanturk lost out 0-12 to 0-12 points. CUL CAMP; Owing to availabili­ty of coaches, Kanturk GAA Cul camp will take place from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th July at Kanturk GAA pitch at Kilroe and not on dates previously advertised. Registrati­on is at Kellogscul­camps. gaa.ie COFFEE MORNING; Kanturk Juvenile GAA are holding a coffee morning at the O’Brien St park by kind permission of Kanturk community council on Saturday next 10th June from 10am.

The coffee morning is in aid of fundraisin­g needed to support the Kanturk U14 hurling team which heads to Kilkenny for the John West Feile na nGael hurling festival on 15th June. DUHALLOW: Duhallow senior hurlers, having defeated Youghal in round one of the Cork county championsh­ip a month ago, faced East cork side, Sarsfields at Coachford on Sunday last 4th June.

Duhallow were well in the game in the opening half being only 1-7 to 1-10 in arrears at the short whistle. Sars took over in the second half and Duhallow were defeated by 2-13 to 3-22 and now face a round three game later in the summer.
