FAI recognise star Mallow United youngsters as they invite players onto Emerging Talent squads
IT has been a great year for Mallow United from the growth of the club to include Football for All, schoolgirls and additional schoolboys teams, to the successes the club has enjoyed on the field as illustrated in the promotion of three of our schoolboy teams.
The club is delighted to report that the performances of five of the club’s schoolboy players has been recognised with them being invited to partake in the FAI Emerging talent programme.
The FAI Emerging Talent Programme helps identify and develop talented young players around the country with a view to helping them progress onto the international stage in due course.
At U/13 level outfield players Donnacha O’Doherty and Ciaran O’Sullivan and goalkeeper Arthur Osinski were invited onto the programme.
All three players are part of the Mallow United squad who currently play in the Cork Schoolboys League U/13 Premier Division and were runners up in last years U/12 National Cup Final.
At U/12 level both Cormac Dilworth and Jamie O’Neill were invited onto the Emerging Talent Programme in another great recognition of local soccer talent.
The boys are part of the Mallow United squad playing in the Cork Schoolboys League U/12 Premier Division.
The participation of the five boys from the club in the FAI program is a great reflection on the work being put in by the players but also a reflection on the high quality coaching and substantial off the field effort that is driving the progression of Mallow United.
The club wishes the lads the best of luck for their involvement with the Ireland set-up and look forward to having them back in the Mallow United jersey for next season.
