COFFEE FOR AFRICA

A coffee morning in aid of the work of Sr. Antoinette O’Callaghan in Nigeria will be held in the Kilcorney Social Centre on this Sunday, June 25, after the 10.30 a.m. Mass till 1 p.m. Your support would be very much appreciate­d as all funds raised will go to where they are most needed.

All proceeds will go towards people living with HIV and Aids, especially women and children and also farming families in the area who are experienci­ng very difficult times. Come along for a friendly chat and a cup of tea.

Challenge scores-Keven McGuire/Darren McGuire (Mayo) beat Maurice Cashman/Brian Sexton (Cork) by two bowles of odds. Joe Sheridan/Paul Moran (Mayo) beat John Breen/Donal Cashman (Cork) by two bowles of odds. Peter Gibbons/Zoe Forde (Mayo) beat Seán Sheridan/ Forde (Mayo) for the last shot. Donal O’Donovan/ Ned Kelleher (Cork) beat David Hughes/Keven Donnelly (Mayo) for the last shot.

In the North Cork Novice-D Championsh­ip at Kilcorney, John McSullivan played Jim Martin in what was a closely contested score from start to finish. It all hinged on the last shot with McSullivan moving up the championsh­ip ladder. The stake at issue was €900. In a return score, John McSullivan played Paul Walsh, with both players producing record bowling, covering the road in 12 throws. McSullivan was first over the line to record a double win. The stake here was €900.

Jackie Daly and Liam Casey competitio­ns-Dean Sexton and Ned Kelleher had a last shot win over Daniel Murphy and Aaron Mackey in a good competitio­n score. Danny Murphy and Paddy O’Keeffe had a bowl of odds to spare over Maurice Cashman and Donal Cashman. Ned Kelleher beat Aaron Mackey by a bowl of odds. Aaron Mackey had a last shot win over Daniel Murphy.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Fundraisin­g Dance in aid of both Millstreet and Kanturk Community Hospitals will take place in Kilcorney Hall on Friday night, June 30, at 9 p.m. Tickets available from Community Council Members price €10.
