Junior footballers in championship action against Lyre
HAVING suffered a heavy defeat to Cullen in the opening round, Kanturk Junior footballers will hope to give a better account of themselves when facing Lyre in round 2 of the Duhallow championship on Monday 3rd July.
It’s a winner take all contest as whichever side losses will exit championship 2017. Kanturk will be hoping to have a stronger side in action on this occasion and will hope to make a bold bid for victory. INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Kanturk Intermediate hurlers travel to Minane Bridge on Fri-day 30th June for a division 2 league tie with Tracton 8pm.
Tracton have already exited the Cork Premier IHC, losing heavily to Fermoy in round 2B recently.
Kanturk are down to play Charleville in round 2A of the championship on 15th July but it’s unclear if the game will go ahead on that date.
The league tie with Tracton could be the last league tie Kanturk get to play before they see championship action and some of the fringe players will look to impress to stake a claim for championship inclusion over the coming weeks. UNDERAGE AFFAIRS:
