There’s also sean nós dancing, plus traditional crafts and, of course, singing.

This year there’s also a number of fringe events on offer at Scully’s Fest, including a ‘Rambling House’ night with stories, drama, singing and poetry with special guest celebrated author and Newmarket native Alice Taylor. |This is sure to be a rare night of old style entertainment.

There’s a family day barbcue with music by the emerging young musicians of the locality on the Sunday.

An art exhibition on the theme ‘Áit: Place’ an dfeaturing the work of six local artists will return for its second year. The exhibition will run throughout the festival at the new venue of Newmarket Motors.

One of the main events of the festival is the gala concert in Glash school. ‘An Glaoch’ on Saturday the 12th of August. Jackie Daly and Matt Cranitch will headline and will be supported by Dan Curtin and Con Herbert, along with sean nós dancer Gearóid Ó Dubháin and singer Saileog Ní Cheanabháin, with local legends and upcoming young players joining in for good measure.
