WINNERS

With Shannon Breen giving an All-Star display in goal, Araglebn Desmonds Buí ladies footballers won the Munster seven-a-side intermediate final in Mallow on Sunday last. The final scoreline was 5-7 to 4-4 with Mungret St Pauls of Limerick providing the final opposition.

This was a contest that produced some outstanding football with some brilliant individual skill, with team captain Aoife Clifford leading by example. The game itself was fast flowing and close throughout and the winners held a slender half time lead on a 3-2 to 2-3 scoreline.

The second half followed along the same lines with the teams level six minutes into the half. However, with Shannon Breen giving the display of a lifetime and her kickouts setting up attack after attack, the Araglen Desmonds Buí girls took control and had six points to spare at the final whistle.
