A cavalcade of colour is headed for Cullen

-

THERE’S A cavalcade of colour headed for Cullen but it may be a bit mind-bending because it’s likely to transport you back in time.

This coming Sunday expect to see not one but two convoys of yesteryear winding their way toward Cullen in a throwback to days gone bye that will, literally, slow the pace right down to a very comfortable relaxed gear.

On Sunday, Duhallow Vintage Club is all geared up to hold one of the premier events of the summer season, the Joe Withers Memorial Tractor and Car Run. this run will coincide with Laitiarain Sunday and the many, many gathered vehicles and their occupant will wend their way onto the site in Cullen.

The sign-on for the run is at the Hi-Land in Newmarket. That’s from 11am where there will be refreshments served. Then, roundabout mid-day, the vintage run will leave the Hi-Land heading to Cullen Vintage Day.

However, the vintage cars will take one route, while the tractos wil take another - making for a double parade of vintage vehicles headed into the Laitiarain Sunday festivities.

For the members of the Duhallow Vintage Club, the day will be in remberance of the late Joe Withers, a great club man whose particular passion was vintage tractors - and who contributed to many great days out, including many great at the Cullen festival.
