GAA Cúl Camps hugely popular in North Cork
THE time of year when summer camps are taking over the county has arrived again, with Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps heralding a hive of activity on local pitches .
The incredibly popular summer camps have long been Ireland’s favourite, with thousands of children participating every year.
This year, there are a number of camps throughout Cork, with over 15 camps in North Cork alone, in areas such as Dromtariffe, Newmarket, Banteer and Boherbue which are all featured over the next five pages.
With a wide range of activities to participate in, including football, hurling, camogie and handball, as well as other games such as tug o’ war, GAA Cúl camps provide entertainment for all ages. Apart of having fun and learning new skills, the camps also serve as a great way for kids to meet friends.
Tara Flynn from Mallow and Fay Alice O’Sullivan from Mallow (pictured right) are just two examples of this after they met up at the Dromtarriffe Cúl Camps recently. The kids were pictured earlier on in the week making the most of the good weather and were seen playing games and having a good time.
The popularity of the GAA camps show no signs of slowing down and are getting busier and longer every year, beating out the competition from their soccer and rugby counterparts. Open to boys and girls between the ages of 6-13, it is not too late to sign up the kids as summer camps run until the end of August.
