Cork Opera House will be staging the iconic musical Annie from July 20 to August 20.

BRENDAN GRACE AT THE INEC KILLARNEY

One of Ireland’s most popular comedians, Brendan Grace, will be taking to the stage at the INEC Killarney Friday night at 8.30pm.

Grace is best known for his unique take on Irish life, lampooning everything from Catholicis­m to the Irish drinking culture.

COUNTRY NIGHT AT CHARLIE’S

Crazy Chester will be performing a free gig Friday night at Charlie’s from 10.30pm.

Described as a mix of country and Americana, the group will perform a series of well known songs from artists such as Johnny Cash, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, as well as original songs of their own.

TRIBUTE NIGHT FOR LEGENDARY FRONTMAN

One of the most successful bands of the 1990s, Soundgarde­n will be performing a tribute concert for their late leadman, Chris Cornell, on Friday night at 8pm.

Cornell, who also performed the Bond track “You Know My Name”, was considered one of the finest vocalists of his generation.

WEEKEND FESTIVAL IN MACROOM

Townsland Carnival will be returning for a third consecutiv­e year at the Rusheen Farm Estate in Macroom for a three day weekend.

Featuring such artists as the Rubber Bandits and MC Dynamite and Shookrah, this festival has continued to grow over the last three years and promises to be a fun filled weekend.

CLASSIC 50’S NIGHT AT CRANE LANE

The highly acclaimed Roll Over Beethoven will be performing at the Crane Lane Theatre Saturday night from 8pm.

The group are well known as a 1950’s tribute band, performing classics from the likes of Elvis, Chuck Berry and The Everly Brothers.

PADDY CASEY RETURNS TO TRISKEL ARTS CENTRE

Paddy Casey will be performing a gig at the Triskel Arts Centre this Saturday at 8pm.

One of Ireland’s top musical acts during the noughties, Paddy released several smash hits, such as ‘Saints and Sinners’ and ‘ The Lucky One’, which received airplay worldwide.

ROCKING THE BLUES AWAY AT COUGHLANS

The renowned Cork based blues band Hot Guitars will be performing a free gig Saturday night at Couglans.

Former Riverdance star Breandán de Gallaí will be bringing his latest show to the Firkin Crane Theatre Tuesday at 8pm.

The former principal dancer for the world’s most famous dance show, Breandán will be accompanie­d by a stellar cast of Irish dancers for this one night only performanc­e.
