Intermedia­te hurlers pick up points

THE Kanturk Intermedia­te hurlers, travelled to East Cork to face Castlemart­yr in a re-arranged county division 2 league tie on bank holiday Monday.

Traving with an under strength side, Kanturk held a slender one point advantage at the break, 0-11 to 0-10.

A second half goal gave Kanturk the edge as they ran out winners, 1-14 to 0-11.

In Duhallow U21 hurling, Kanturk defeated Banteer at Kanturk on Tuesday last, 1st August on a 1-24 to 0-14 score line.

In Juvenile affairs, Kanturk under age teams have two home games on Monday, 14th August. While the Kilroe pitch is taken up with Kanturk ladies footballer­s facing Mallow in championsh­ip fair at 7pm, our U12 footballer­s face Granard Gaels at Freemount Road pitch at 7pm while our U16 hurlers host Ballyhea at Lismire 7pm. Best wishes to Anthony Nash and Lorcain McLoughlin and the Cork senior hurlers on a big day at Croke Park on Sunday next, 13th August. With both Cork senior and Minor teams in action, Croke Park will be the place to be on Sunday with over 60,000 expected to attend. Results:
