We’re giving local producers a real chance

-

AT SuperValu we are the biggest supporter of local producers in Ireland because we believe in local, and at Twohig’s SuperValu, Kanturk we are proud to support a range of great local products.

The finest dairy and meat produce in the world, local artisan cheeses, quality breads, jams, preserves, fish, pates ... and so much more, Twohig’s SuperValu is delighted to be able to supply our customers with so much quality local produce.

SuperValu nationwide will sell €32m worth of Irish potatoes this year and at Twohig’s SuperValu we have some of the best home-grown spuds in the land, supplied locally by Castlecor Potatoes. And we also have potatoes supplied by Moyvane Potatoes from nearby in Co Kerry – because we also believe in choice for our customers.

Based in Kanturk since 1928, North Cork Co-op supplies a full range of locally produced dairy products and it’s perhaps the most comprehensive example of how Twohig’s SuperValu supports local farmers and local processing jobs while delivering local products right back into the area.

With SuperValu determined to get Irish people eating fish twice a week, Twohig’s is delighted to bring you delicious smoked fish and fish pates from the Old Millbank smokehouse in Mallow.

Murphy’s Bakery in Kanturk and Philpott’s Bread supply Twohig’s with a great range of bread and confectionery while we also carry Julie O’Connell’s sumptuous queen cakes. With. locally sourced fresh farm salads, and fruit and jams from Ballymaquirke, Duhallow is rich in absolutely top quality produce and you’ll find instore at Twohig’s SuperValu, where we invite you, our valued customers, to support local producers with us.

At SuperValu, we have joined forces with Bord Bia and the Local Enterprise Office Network to create the Food Academy Programme, which works with and nurtures small businesses through their journey from start up to getting their products on our shelves.

There are currently over 300 Food Academy small producers in SuperValu stores.

Twohig’s SuperValu is also on board giving strong retail and marketing advice as well as providing shelf space opportunities. It’s all about encouraging entrepreneurship and giving small producers a big chance.

Food Academy is now supporting over 1,130 jobs nationally and that also means jobs here in Duhallow, too.

At Twohig’s SuperValu in Kanturk we’re all about real local produce and real local jobs.
