Boherbue Golf Society played the Captain’s (Dr David Heffernan) Prize recently in ideal weather conditions with the course perfect for a good contest.

Boherbue Junior “A” footballer­s face a big task at Cullen this Friday night when they play Dromtariff­e in the Duhallow Championsh­ip at 7.15pm.

Boher will be without the services of John Corkery, who is on the injured list and will be a huge loss.

Even though Boher have defeated this Dromtariff­e side three times so far this season, they will have to be on their guard and play exceptiona­lly well to win a place in this year’s final.

OPENING

One of Boherbue’s wellknown licensed premises, the Corner House, has reopened under the management of Darren McCormack and Ann Marie O’Donoghue, who resides at Ballyhouli­han.

It will be open daily from 10.30am and 12.30pm on Sundays. We wish them well in their new venture. winners.

Mass on Sunday Morning, August 13, at 10.30 a.m. Holy Hour on Monday at 7 p.m. Mass on Tuesday morning (Feast of the Assumption) at 10.30 a.m.

St Michael’s Room is now available to parents who would like to bring young children to Sunday Mass.

Comhaltas Weekly Seisiún commenced in the Heritage Centre, Freemount on Wednesday night, July 12, Our special guests on Wednesday night next August 16 is a group of seven male singers from Bruff in Co. Limerick called Wild Oats. Don’t miss this very special group of singers next Wednesday night.

We also have a huge lineup of music song and dance and storytelli­ng each night as usual. Admission €10 including the usual tea.We run each Wednesday night, at 8.30 p.m. till August 30 Please make a note of the date, tell all your friends and make sure you are there, especially on Wednesday night next.

THE THURSDAY CLUB

FREEMOUNT GAA.

The junior B hurlers and footballer­s have been active in the last couple of weeks. The junior B hurlers lost an exciting game to Banteer by a point and the footballer­s defeated Glenlara by three points and lost to Ballydesmo­nd by a similar margin.

The GAA camp for 6-13 year olds takes place in Freemount and Meelin from August 14 to August 18.

LOTTO – There was no winner of lotto jackpot for last weekend. The numbers drawn were 5, 7, 19 and 30.
