Kilcorney hooley cheques out for Kanturk and Millstreet hospitals

THE generosity of the public in supporting a special fund raising dance in support of Kanturk and Millstreet Community Hospitals merited favourable reception at a presentati­on of €1,000 each following a dance organised by Kilcorney Community Council.

Organisers applauded the support of patrons from across Duhallow in support of deserving causes. Kilcorney Community Council Secrtary Niall O’Shea thanked the support of the public far and wide.

“Two community hospitals availed of the proceeds, funding is difficult to come by and its important to maintain services”, she said.

Kanturk Community Hospital ‘s Joan Collins expressed gratitude to the support received.

“We hope we can comtinue to offer the services of our hospital to local people. Fundraiser­s like this are much appreciate­d and offers us the opportunit­y to upgrade our facilities and add equipment for the comfort of patients”, she said.

Adding to the enjoyment of the occasion were music and song to Blackwater Sound and Breeda of the Diamond Sisters who volunteere­d their talents.

Thanks were extended to sponsors Colemans Millstreet; Reens Pharmacy; Aidan McCaul Hardware, Millstreet; Supervalu Kanturk, Wordsworth­s Millstreet; Noel C Duggan, Millstreet; Supervalu Millstreet, Mill Oil, Millstreet and Kilcorney Community Council.

Kilcorney CC acknowledg­e all those who purchased tickets, and in particular Leo Leader who put tremendous work into selling tickets.
