Litwrits to host coffee morning

-

BALLINCOLLIG based writing group ‘Litwrits’ are in the initial stages of releasing their second book in early November. The book will be called ‘Further Tales from the White Horse’ and proceeds will go to Muscular Dystrophy Ireland.

There will be a coffee morning in Allcare Pharmacy, Ballincollig on Friday, September 15 from 11am until 2pm to help promote and raise funds for the publication of the book. All are welcome to drop in for coffee and listen to stories from the book.

The book is a follow on from their first publication of combined writing called ‘Tales from the White Horse’. The new book will consist of short stories, fictions, fantasy, humour, poetry and more.

The ‘Litwrits’ are a local writing group of nine people who have a passion for writing and literature. The group meet regularly in the White Horse Bar in Ballincollig and found it very appropriate to name the book after it.

“We are seeking as much support as possible for the new book which is a group collaboration of our own work,” Litwrits member Diana Cassidy said, adding: “We chose Muscular Dystrophy Ireland as it is charity that provides vital support and respite to many families living in Cork.”

The group have sourced sponsorship from local businesses to cover the costs of print, production and to ensure all proceeds from the sale will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy Irelands respite support services.

From mid-November the ‘Further Tales from the White Horse’ will be available to buy from Allcare Pharmacy in Ballincollig and the price will be €9.99. Check out Ballincollig Litwrits Facebook page or email LitWrits@yahoo.co.uk.
