Centre Stage back in action

-

AUDITIONS commenced for the October presentation of Stars In Their Eyes last Saturday evening at the Centre Stage Studio at Bellevue where up to 14 singers went through their paces, singing songs from all genres under the watchful eye of a team from Centre Stage led by Aideen McAuliffe and assisted by vocal coaches Niamh O’Connell and Kerry Nyhan and choreographer Eimear Sheehan.

Up to 14 acts will take to the stage on the main night at the Marquee in a show that will be hosted by John Paul O’Shea.

The acts will consist of both solo singers and groups with final auditions taking place next Sunday and it is hoped that, by Monday evening, the full line-up will be announced. Rehearsals will then continue every Sunday, beginning on September 17 with times allotted for each act.

The auditions come as staff at the Centre Stage School gear up for what promises to be another exciting term of performing arts.

Founded in 2003 by Aideen McAuliffe, the school has evolved into a centre of excellence for the performing arts, nurturing the talents of children.

“We are all super excited as we prepared for another year, with plenty of familiar staff faces and well as some new staff, which always helps to keep the curriculum fresh and interesting,” said Aideen.

“We have just launched our new website with new classes now available to view and book online. So it has never been easier to become immersed in the world of performing arts.”

In addition to holding classes at their Bellevue Studio, the school is also running Theatre Tots and Musical Theatre classes in Kanturk on Mondays and in Charleville on Wednesdays.

“There will also be a surprise for senior Musical Theatre students, with a new musical to be announced that will be performed at the CAT club in Cork in the New Year,” said Aideen.
