The 2017 building project
BANTEER Community Childcare is now one of the most progressive Childcare Centres in the Munster region and provides a fantastic service for local parents.
The further expansion will further help with the current waiting list.
There are now four full preschool rooms (88 child places) in operation under the ECCE scheme and the Centre has some 240 children on its roll books.
The construction of the two new Classrooms in a record time of three weeks flat should be of special interest to many other Childcare Centres and Housing Bodies in light of the current housing accommodation crisis.
With the project costing a total of €170,000 with €70,000 EYC Grant aid, significant own funds were used. Various other improvements such as a new Car park, maintenance to the existing building and traffic safety work were also carried out. Needless to say additional jobs will be created locally from the expansion of the Centre.
The current Board of Directors are James Murphy Chairman, Ger Fleming Secretary, Denis Withers Treasurer, Patrick Buckley, Majella Golden, Linda Kelleher, Una Quealey, John Kirwan, Matt Farrell.
The Board of Directors and Staff wish to thank all contractors involved including Loghouse Dublin, Donncha Foley Building Contractor, Tadhg O Keeffe and Sons Electrical, Charlie Fallon Painting, Fitzpatricks Tarmac, FRS Fencing, AJM Security Ltd and O’ Shea Leader Consulting Engineers
