The awards recognise the positive contribution of young people to make their locality a better place in which to live and, in addition, it recognises young people who have shown great determination in their own lives.
The awards recognise achievements up to and including this year and an individual or groups can be nominated. The awards are confined to young people who are not younger than 14 years of age and not more than 19 years old on December 31, 2017. The nominees must reside in the Cork North division and the community activities must have taken place in the Cork North division.
Application forms are now available in every Garda station in the Cork North division and any queries can be directed to the local Garda Juvenile Liaison Officers or Community Gardai based at Fermoy, Mallow, Mitchelstown, Midleton, Youghal, Cobh or Kanturk stations.
