Culture Night in Cullen to celebrate All Ireland success
SWITCH on Culture Night in Cullen on Friday, September 22 promises to be special on acknowledging a glorious sequel of triumphs that won acclaim in many corners at home and international shores for talented individuals and groups.
The get together in Cullen Community Centre at 8pm sharp on Friday week is a celebration of the 2017 All Ireland and World prizes won by the Cullen Pipe Band at the All Ireland and World Piping c’ships and local 2017 All Ireland winners at the Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil.
Organisers promise lovely local performances, a display of the prizes plus a sample of the winning performances from a recital by Cullen Pipe Band recital; Cian Broderick, Rince ar an Sean-Nós Age 12 to 15; Diarmuid Cronin, English Story Telling Age 12-15; Rena Lynch, English Story Telling Age O18; Katie O’Sullivan, English Singing Age U12 supported by her mentor Elle Marie O’ Dwyer.
Additionally the Crossfields Céilí Band(12 to 15), Crossfields Céilí Band(15-18) and winning for the third consecutive year in a row, the Seandrum Céilí Band Over 18. The three céilí bands under the musical genius of their mentor Alan Finn, won in their various age groups at the Fleadh Cheoil in Ennis.
From a hcctic programme, there will also be a performance by some of the outstanding musicians involved. Patrons are invited to come along on Culture Night and salute exceptional talent.
