Junior Cycle

All subjects are on offer at Junior Cycle and this year has seen the introduction of two short courses in line with the new Junior Cycle certificate. We offer a short course in Digital Media Literacy as well as in CSPE and it is our intention to add PE and other areas to our short courses going forward. We are also fully engaged in the new Wellbeing course which is now a mandatory part of Junior Cycle.

Leaving Certificate

Davis College offers a wide and full range of subject options to students at senior cycle. All subjects are offered to higher level and students are encouraged to take this level in as many subjects as possible. In addition, Applied Maths is offered as an extra subject every year and Classical studies is offered subject to demand.

LCVP

LCVP is completed alongside the traditional Leaving Certificate. It is an additional subject and can be used to calculate points for University courses. It involves the creation of a portfolio and the final examination takes place prior to the main Leaving Certificate exams.

Leaving Certificate Applied

The Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) is a very successful programme in Davis College. LCA provides an alternative route to national certification for students who have a greater interest in vocational education rather than the traditional Leaving Certificate.

Class size is small with a maximum of 15 students and access to the programme is by interview.
