THE last Newmarket Golf Society outing of the season, for the Jimmy Cross Shield, was won by Ann O’Sullivan and Jim Tobin last weekend.

Ann’s son, Donal O’Sullivan, won Jim Cronin President’s Prize at Mallow Golf Club on Sunday, 10 September last with a great score of 37pts in tough windy and showery conditions. Kate O’Brien was first Lady with 31pts on the day.

There was a big turnout for the President’s Prize and Jim Cronin thanked all for attending and Mallow GC for the condition of the course.

The next outing for the society will be held at Christmas, and the date will be advised closer to the time.

In October, the club’s annual Ryder Cup event against Millstreet Golf Society will take place. A team of 12 will be picked for Newmarket Golf Society based on points and attendance during the year.
