FURTHERING EDUCATION AT McEGAN
THE Riverside Hotel, Macroom was filled to capacity last Thursday night, the atmosphere was celebratory and one could feel the pride that many graduates and their families felt as they reaped the rewards of hard work, perseverance and dedication.
McEgan College staff were delighted and privileged to join with graduates and their families to celebrate their success. The annual QQI awards night has been growing in size over the last few years, which reflects the commitment of students and the college itself to the local community.
The principal complimented all the graduates on their hard work, dedication and commitment to their studies and wished them every success in the future. Guest speakers included Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Michael Creed and John Fitzgibbon, Director of Further Education, Cork Education and Training Board who both spoke about the importance of providing a Further Education service for the community and its surrounding hinterland and continuing the strong community links in the area.
Awards were given in all the courses that McEgan College has on offer including Advanced Administration level 6, Advanced Early Childcare and Education level 6, Early Childcare and Education level 5, Hairdressing level 5, Healthcare Support level 5 and Nursing Studies level 5. McEgan College had nearly 90 graduates this year many of whom are progressing to employment or Further Education.
