Macroom Youth Theatre set for Grease Lightning

IT’S finally here Macroom sure is in for a fast moving spectacle as Grease Lightning takes to the stage.

The venue is The Riverside Park Hotel and it all kicks off tomorrow night, Friday, October 6, at 8pm and continues on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. Theatre style seating will apply.

Directed by Margo Carlisle of Carlisle Stage School, this exciting musical, which is set in 1950’s California, will showcase the best talent in the Lee Valley area and will feature high school romance, beach parties, teenage angst and great songs and dance routines. Songs include Greased Lightning, Summer Nights, You’re the One, Tears on my Pillow, Cool Rider and Look at me, I’m Sandra Dee.

The cast of ‘Grease Lightning’ are as follows: Danny - James Patterson; Kenickie - Gerard Collins; Doody - Darragh Linehan; Sonny - Oisin O’Reilly; Eugene - Evan Gallagher; Roger - David Lucey; Vince - James O’Mullane. Sandy - Grace Wood; Frenchie - Lorraine Casey; Rizzo - Lara O’Sullivan; Marty - Rachel Wood; Jan - Rachel Dineen; Patty - Kiera Moynihan; Ms Lynch - Ciara Quinn; Coach - Sarah Louise Burke; Cha Cha - Aine Sheehan.

Chorus - Abbie Healy, Anna Kyprianious, Eabha Donovan, Clodagh O’Riordan, Ciara O’Riordan, Kate O’Sullivan, Maeve McCarthy, Alma McCarthy, Rose Flannery & Saoirse O’Mahony.

Any profits the Lee Valley Enterprise Board make from these shows will go back into local projects, including the restoration of the Church of Ireland in Macroom to create a cultural & tourism amenity which will hugely benefit the area. Tickets - Adults €15 & Students/Children €10.
