Nine Patrician Academy students received awards at the Pope John Paul II Award Ceremony for the Diocese of Cloyne for getting involved in their parish and the wider community.

TY history students submitted a number of essays, drawings and poems relating to the late Thomas “Tip O’Neill” in conjuntion with the Mallow Developmen­t Partnershi­p.

Patrician Academy School Bank had it’s fourth annual Bank of Ireland School Bank this year which was launched by Kerry Footballer Killian Young.

‘Streetscap­es of Mallow’ was the theme of the annual Art, Poetry and Music Exhibition TY students in Mallow Town Library.

Transition Year Art:

The TY Drama, Music, Art classes produced an excellent adaptation of the rugby play “Alone it Stands” which showcased the talents and skills of the students.

Transition Year School Tour: A highlight for many students in TY was the school tour to Barcelona.

CIT TY Programme:

Cork Institute of Technology where they explored the CIT Tranisiton Programme attended lectures and got a feel for what life is like after secondary school.

Transiiton Year GAA Coaching:

TY students were involved in GAA coaching in local Primary Schools.

Sky Sports Living for Sport Initiative:

A TY project backed by Sky Sports saw ten TY students train to become sports mentors to 6th class students of St. Patrick’s Primary School.

The Patrician Academy handballer­s had a very successful year. David Walsh and Tadgh O’Neill took the honours in the All Ireland 60 x 30 Senior Doubles Colleges Handball final while Conor Walsh and Cian O’Driscoll won the All Ireland Intermedia­te Colleges Doubles Handball Championsh­ip.

Patrician Academy came runner up in the Munster Junior Schools Golf Championsh­ip.
