FOOTBALL
Boherbue Junior A footballers bowed out of this year’s County Championship at Millstreet on Saturday last going out to Uibh Laoire on a 3-10 to 1-12 scoreline.
This was a game that was keenly contested and both teams were applauded as they left the playing area – they had played out a contest that had the spectators on their toes throughout.
However, it just wasn’t Boherbue’s day but their spirited performance, particularly in the final 20 minutes was a joy to watch.
2017 will go down in the history books as the year they won the double – Championship and league in the Duhallow Division, something not easily achieved. In fact this year’s League victory was ‘four in a row’. These victories will be celebrated in style at the annual social in the new year.
Well done and congratulations to all involved, the club, officers and committee, team management, the players themselves, physio and all those who helped out at training in one way or another – thanks for an enjoyable year and another for the history book.
