Footballers in county final

THE Mitchelstown Intermediate footballers had a good win over Cill na Martra on Saturday in the Co IFC semi-final at Banteer.

An early goal by Dave Dineen set Town on their way. They had a goal late in the first half by Cathal O’Mahony and led 2-6 to 0-5 at half time.

Mitchelstown dominated the second half and ran out winners by 2-13 to 1- 10.

They now face Kanturk in the Co final. KILDORRERY TAKE UNDER 16 B 2 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

KILDORRERY had a 3-14 to 0-12 win over Doneraile in the Northern Region Under 16 B 2 HC final at Castletownroche on Thursday evening.

Kildorrery led 1-9 to 0-3 at half time and they dominated the second half to win by an 11 point margin.
