On Sunday next, November 26, the annual Christmas Market takes place in the Pearse Memorial Hall from 2-5pm.

Over the years this event has establishe­d itself as one of the leading Christmas Markets in the County and with 26 exhibitors, this year’s event is sure to verify that.

Everything one needs for the Festive season from decoration­s to gifts will be available on the day. The Hall will be decorated accordingl­y to create an atmosphere of glee and joy.

There is something about Christmas that brings us all back to our childhood days — Sunday week’s market will have that effect on people — it helps one to take time out and relax, enjoy the day, chat with friends and take life easy.

In addition to the trade stalls there will also be lots of raffles, tea, coffee, mulled wine and confection­ary will be available plus many surprises.

Admission is free, its a wonderful family day out. So go along and enjoy yourselves and avail of the many bargains particular­ly in the home baking section.

REMEMBRANC­E

The Remembranc­e Service for those who died during the year takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception on this Friday, Nov 17 at 7.30pm. Mass in Kilmeen graveyard is on this Saturday, November 18 at 2pm.

The Blessing of the Graves in Boherbue Cemetery is on this Sunday, Nov 19 at 12 noon.

CHRISTMAS

Reserve Thursday evening, December 7 for the turning on of the Christmas tree lights plus the additional street lights which commences with the blessing of the crib by Fr Jim Kennelly at 8.15pm.

The National School children and the local Church choir, both of whom are such an important part of the ceremonies will be on hand with some Christmas tunes and hymns. Don’t miss it.

ICA

Another reminder of the local ICA Guild floral demonstrat­ion which takes place in the Pearse Memorial Hall on Monday, December 4. Reserve the date.
