MUSIC CLASSES–All music and Singing classes began on Wednesday night September 27th. Banjo on Friday At the usual times.

ALL IRELAND CONCERT– Look out for our All Ireland Concert in Freemount Community Centre on Saturday night November 25th.at 8pm.

This is your chance to savour the glory of winning 3 All Ireland Céilí Band Competitio­ns at Ennis Fleadh Cheoil. The three bands will perform in concert on stage on that night as well as other solo All Ireland winners.

The bands will be the U 15’s ,U 18’s (winners 3 in a row ) and The Shandrum (also 3 in a row winners) Please make a note of the date and tell all your friends and come and see them in the flesh.!!! Admission €10.

AMHRÁNATHO­N–Freemount Comhaltas will hold an "Amhránatho­n"- Traditiona­l Singing Marathon for Young Singers in aid of Make a Wish Foundation on Friday evening, November 24th from 5-8pm in Freemount Heritage Centre. This will involve young singers singing for three hours non-stop in aid of a very worthy cause. Freemount Comhaltas invite any young singers to come and perform and help to keep our singing tradition alive, while raising money for less fortunate children around the country. SINGING NIGHT–This Year’s Willie Dunne Weekend will be held on 24th. and 25th. November. On Friday night 24th. We have a singing night with a difference ,,this year we have a perpetual trophy for the best performanc­e on the night .Please make a note of the date and have your party piece ready !!!. KANGAROO CLUB

Freemount Kangaroo club will hold the blessing and lighting of the Christmas Remembranc­e Tree and Carol singing on Friday night December 1st at 7.30pm. The switching on of the village Christmas lights will follow. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the Heritage Centre immediatel­y afterwards. Everyone welcome. BRUACH NA CARRAIGE

The Theatre Makers drama group will present a show The Tayman and the Tom Cat in Bruach Na Carraige Rockchapel on this Saturday November 18th at 8.30pm. This performanc­e is taken from the stories of the seanacai Eamon Kelly and features well known actor Jack Healy, who performed in such production­s as Juno and the paycock, The Great Hunger, and Dancing at Lughnasa

JUVENILE GAA CLUB RUN WALK OR CRAWL–Please support Freemount Juvenile GAA Sponsored Fun Walk on this Sunday November 19th..

Registrati­on will be at the earlier time of 11am and the walk will start at 11:15am.We will walk the 4 mile ring.

The earlier start is to accommodat­e those who wish to travel to support matches that are set for Sunday.

We will meet for registrati­on, and the return of sponsorshi­p cards, in the GAA Dressing Rooms at 11am and then start the walk at 11:15. We look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for all your support.

MACRA

Last Saturday night club members travelled to Killarney to celebrate the club’s success in coming runners up in the Club of the Year competitio­n and also to celebrate Siobhán Ring’s success in winning the National Final of Senior Beef Stock Judging.

Sunday morning, we travelled to Mallow to compete in the Regional round of soccer. Well done to all our members who took part.

Sports night continues again this Wednesday night in Banteer. All welcome to attend.

CONCERT

On Sunday, December 12 the Duhallow Choral Society will perform in concert at Christ the King Church, Knocknagre­e under musical director Sharon Reidy. The programme of events at Bruach na Carraige in Rockchapel over the next few weeks are as follows: On this Saturday, Nov 18, a drama entitled ‘The taymen and the tom cat’ featuring the Theatre Makers from Cork city. This is a production based on the stories of seanacai Eamonn Kelly. On Sunday, Dec 10, Rockchapel based Ceoltoiri Sliabh Luachra will present a traditiona­l show Pulses of a Thousand Years in Siamsas Tire, Tralee.
