Knocknagree Lip Sync is a smash hit for GAA club
LEGENDS of the stage convened for the Knocknagree GAA Does Lip Sync in the presence of 1,000 fans with some of the best boy and girl bands, in the company of individual acts and groups, creating a brilliant atmosphere at the INEC, Killarney, last Friday night.
Those interested in pop and rock artists going back over the decades had a night to remember while a selection of more current idols held the interest of the younger generation. Outright honours belonged to a familiar duo known for their exploits off and on the stage – Beyonce and Jay Z in the disguise of Caroline O’Connor and Shaun McSweeney.
At the show, Knocknagree club chairman Jeremiah Moynihan spoke of a marvellous year for the club and community both on and off the field.
“We have had great days out between the Mayor of Knocknagree campaign, our minors winning the North Cork Championship and that famous day in Páirc ui Rinn when we won the County Junior Championship as we now face into a Munster Final. This success does not come easy so I want to thank all our volunteers who put their time and effort into the club,” he said.
“We have made a big effort in fundraising this year and I would like to thank everyone for helping and supporting the various events that took place.
I want to thank all the participants here tonight for their time and the commitment they have given to Lip Sync. It has been a very enjoyable few weeks working with them”, said Jeremiah.
Each act was sponsored by local businesses and a total of 12 groups worked on their song and dance routines over the past month. Proceeds from the venture go towards club developments.
