The group rarely fund raise for their own benefit, as they finance training and ongoing expenses from members annual and weekly fees but will need to do so for their trip to Chicago in 2018 for St Patrick’s week events

for IRD leader funding over the years, for uniforms, staging and musical equipment, and also Kanturk Credit Union, local businesses and Cork County Council.

Duhallow Choral Society is currently fund raising for their trip to represent Duhallow and Co Cork in Chicago and while individual members are funding their own fare and accommodation, the choir must raise money for professional personnel travelling, transport, and extra costs incurred for intense training for the tour.

Christmas Concert Tou r

December 1: Dromcollogher church 8pm; proceeds to Dromcollogher town council in aid of new town park. December 5: Meelin Church, 7.30pm in aid of Downs Syndrome December 8: Millstreet churh at 8pm - all proceeds to Millstreet Hospital December 14: Knocknagree Church

Each year a traditional concert is held at Kanturk Parish church, this year on Sunday, 17th December at 7pm. This is a special concert for many people, with usually an audience of over 500.

The choir are most honoured each year to perform with the very well known special guest soprano Miriam Murphy, straight from the West End, London and this year she is also appearing in the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

All tickets for each concert are available from local organisers and at the door on the night.

The choir will also have a pre-trip concert to celebrate the launch of their Chicago trip on February 25th at the Edel Quinn Hall, Kanturk and it hopes that a large audience will support the group on their way to Chicago.
