St Fanahan’s Camogie Club AGM

THERE was a very good attendance at St Fanahan’s Camogie Club AGM held in the Ozanam Centre, Thomas St, on Monday night. This was the first AGM since the merger of Mitchelsto­wn Ladies Football Club and St. Fanahan’s Camogie Club and Chairman Liam O’Grady presided.

The Chairman welcomed the members and outlined that there were over 240 girls registered and this number is expected to increase during 2018.

He thanked both Mitchelsto­wn GAA and Ballygibli­n GAA for the use of their facilities for training and matches during the year.

Tim O’Sullivan presented a detailed Secretary’s Report where he outlined a very successful season.

Treasurer Olive Kenneally presented a very comprehens­ive Financial Report and showed that club funds are very well handled and maintained.

Child Protection Officer Ailbe Coleman spoke of the importance of all coaches being suitably trained and that all coaches would have to have Foundation Level, Garda Vetting and Code of Ethics completed by the start of 2018.

Liam O’Doherty presided over the election of officers for 2018, which resulted as follows: Chairman Liam O’Grady, Vice Chairman Paddy Coleman, Hon Secretary Tim O’Sullivan, Assistant Secretary Tom Tierney, Treasurer Olive Kenneally, Assistant Treasurer Sharon Fitzgerald, Registrar John Conway, PRO Damian Cremin, Welfare Officer Ailbe Coleman.

The first meeting of the new season will be held on Friday, January 12.
