Cullen weigh-in seeks volunteers

MAKE that New Year’s resolution on slimming down come true and at the same time help support a worthy charity.

One of North Cork’s most progressiv­e organisati­ons, Cullen and District Special Needs Associatio­n, are gearing up for volunteers across the Duhallow Region and beyond to burn up the calories from its Annual Weigh In that commences on next Monday night at 8pm in Cullen Community Centre with weekly exercises and dancing continuing over ten weeks.

All are welcome to come along and join in, followed by music and dance each night.

Secretary Moira O’Keeffe relates Dr. Pat Casey will oversee the Weigh in and also returning by popular demand is a Jiving Class.

“It’s a very sociable event and is better than any Facebook for meeting people around the area while at the same time getting fit. Our fundraisin­g events continue, including the hosting of a Harvest afternoon, featuring old time Threshing and Vintage display, and many sideshows including live entertainm­ent”, said Moira.

“We are extremely grateful to the many people who give so generously of their time, their talents, their services and their resources over the years to assist in our fund - raising efforts all who sponsor and help to make the vintage afternoon such a great success, all who support our Weigh - in and the media who promote our events”, she said.

Friends and associate are invited to come along and receive a warm welcome at the Weigh In on Monday night from 8pm.
