TWO of the country’s top businessmen will host a breakfast fundraising event in aid of the St Joseph’s Foundation in Charleville.

St. Joseph’s Foundation is based in Charleville and was formed in 1968. It provides services for in excess of 1,200 people from within a 25-mile radius of Charleville that include pre-school, school, adult training programmes, respite care facilities and retirement homes.

A full range of multidisciplinary services, including psychology, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, and equine therapy, are also available.

Denis Brosnan will be the keynote speaker and guest of honour at the breakfast in the Charleville Park Hotel on Monday, January 29th The event will be hosted by the St Joseph’s Foundation.

Mr. Brosnan is one of Ireland’s leading and most respected businessmen. He was the founder, chief executive and, until 2003, chairman of Kerry Group Plc. where he was the driving force behind the transformation of Kerry Co-op.

In the early 1980s, Kerry expanded from its dairy core to include a number of manufacturing and food processing facilities located throughout Ireland. Mr. B then made the big strategic decision to expand in to the USA which was instrumental in ensuring that Kerry became the global player it is today.

Kerry Group now employs over 20,000 people throughout its manufacturing, sales, technology and application centres throughout the world.

The owner of the Charleville Park Hotel, Pat McDonagh will host the event and address the function. Pat and his wife Úna are the owners of the Só Hotel Group as well as The Claddagh Pub Group in the United States, the Supermac’s Group of family restaurants and The Plaza Group of destination motorway service stations.

The Foundation has always had tremendous support for its various fundraising events within the catchment area but due to cutbacks, the services are now more dependent on voluntary fundraising than ever.

The breakfast event will be an opportunity for businesses and individuals to contribute to a worthy cause while getting to meet two of Irelands top businessmen. Fundraising enables the Foundation to ensure the continuation and enhancement of services being provided.

There are some tables still available and they can be booked by contacting Maura Twomey at the Foundation (063-21679) or The Charleville Park Hotel.
