WAYNE SMASHES HIS WEIGHTY TARGET
MALLOW MAN LOSES 11.5 POUNDS IN FIRST WEEK ON OPERATION TRANSFORMATION
MALLOW man Wayne O’Donnell certainly aced it on his food and exercise plan on Operation Transformation as he lost 11.5 pounds on his week one challenge.
Last Wednesday night with his food plan, he prepared a dish for his parents and girlfriend Jackie Barry, who gave his cooking the thumbs up.
The show showed just how serious Wayne is to get the weight off as he pushed himself while out running. With a smile, he told the camera that even though it was tough, it “feels great.”
He is very busy also managing a basketball club in Mallow and one of his big aims is to be back out on the court playing.
“I really want to get back out on the basketball court,” he said during Operation Transformation.
When it came to the weigh in his target loss was 5 llbs and his weight was 17 stone 13.5 pounds. However, Wayne smashed his target with a weight loss of 11.5 pounds.
The judging panel beamed at his achievement, and Dr Ciara Kelly said he had done “brilliantly.”
“You are well able for this,” she said.
Wayne also beamed from ear to ear and with a smile said: “who knew rabbit food could taste so good.”
Later in the show, Wayne also overcame another fear – heights. A task was given to climb a wall which he duly did.
He previously readily admitted that his downfall was fizzy drinks along with quick and convenient foods and his beloved ketchup. But now there is a real pep in Wayne’s step as he takes on the food and exercise plan for week two.
He told The Corkman that his target for week two is four pounds.
“I’m really happy so far with how I am doing. Everyone has been so supportive to me, which really means a lot,” he said.
He said his overall aim during his sting on Operation Transformation is to lose 20% of his body fat by 2019 and he certainly has the determination and grit to do exactly that.
On Tuesday nights, Dano’s Super Valu in Mallow are holding a 5km walk at which Wayne will lead the pack.
