Blackwater photographers to showcase their work at library
A STUNNING collection carefully composed sed and sometimes thought-provoking images es captured through the lenses of members of the Blackwater Photographic Society is set to go on public display from next Wednesday at Mallow Library.
The free exhibition, will feature some 50 photographs spanning a variety of themes and will run until Wednesday, February 14.
Established in 2013 by a dedicated group p of enthusiasts from across North Cork, rk, Photographic Society PRO John Mullane ne said its aim was to promote and encourage ge a love of photography in an informal and nd welcoming environment.
“Members come from all walks of life and range from beginners to advanced, with the society covering all aspects of photography, with an ethos firmly placed on fun and enjoyment without an over-emphasis on equipment and competitcompetition,” said John.
“New members with an interests in photography phyphotography aare always welcome to join us, regardless of eexperience. We will take people through the tht the basics art, from and using tutor equipment them on all to aspects choosing of ssubjects to framing subjects to get the best images,” he added.
The society also hosts an array of regular activities including field trips, ttutorial evenings with guest speakers, eexhibitions and workshops in Adobe PhPhotoshop, printing and presentation. TThe club meets every Monday night from 8p8pm in the function room at the Arches BaBar in Mallow.
Club members will have full access to all of the many activities on offer with its constitution ensuring that everyone has a say in how it is run.
