Bridge House turn draw into whitewash against Pat Mac’s

TWO weeks ago the first quarter finals of the Blackwater Valley Darts Cup took place and Pat Mac’s Bar in Castletown­roche had the pleasure of taking on the Bridge House Bar A team from Mallow.

In the first game Christy Roche (Captain of Mac’s ) played Eddie O’Rourke and it was Roche who got to a double first but did not take his chances and O’Rourke went on to win 3-0.

The second game was between John Relihan and Brendan Matthews and everyone knew this was going to be a great battle as both players are in great form at the moment. Both players had good scores but in the end it was a great result for Relihan winning 3-0.

The third game of the night was between Tom O’Shea and Nicky the Shermanato­r Sherman. Sherman was steady throughout and this one finished 3-0 to the Bridge House man.

The fourth game had John Palmer against Alan Foley while Foley missed some chances on doubles but Palmer was too good on the night and won 3-0.

Up next in the fifth game was Wesley Walshe against Darren Jones and even though Jones won a game Walshe went on to win 3-1 and checked out 91 in one game.

Winston Barry played Steve O’Mahoney in the last game of singles and it was O’Mahoney who came out on top winning 3-0.

After six games of singles the score was level at three games a piece.

In the first of the doubles Mac’s Palmer and Lenihan had no problems in their encounter having two 13 dart finishes.

In the last game of doubles Joe Canavan and Barry played O’Mahony and Matthews. O’Mahony scored a 180 and Matthews had two 140’s with Barry having a 95 check out but it was the Bridge house boys won 3-2 leaving the score on the night, Pat Mac’s 4 Bridge House A 4.

The replay took place last weekend with the Mallow bar running riot over Pat Macs in an 8-0 scoreline.

Last weekend the first leg of the Mousetrap and Magniers game in the Plate competitio­n was a very close encounter with both teams sharing the points at four all. Also in the Plate, Molly’s were winners against Kit Roche’s from Buttevant.

Maureen’s came out winners in there Cup game, defeating Horgan’s 6-2.

The League fixtures for Friday, January 26 are: Magnier’s v Mousetrap, Pat Mac’s v Bridge House B, Daly’s v Kit Roche’s, Molly’s v Maureen’s and Bridge House A v Horgan’s
